Convert →Why gratuity matters
End-of-service benefits are a legal entitlement in every GCC country — not a favour from your employer. The formulas differ a lot: the UAE pays 21 then 30 days of basic salary per year, Saudi Arabia pays on your full wage but cuts the award if you resign early, Qatar guarantees 3 weeks a year with no resignation cut, and Kuwait can pay nothing at all if you resign before 3 years. A small mistake — using total salary instead of basic, or resigning one month too early — can cost you thousands.
